Processing of personal data for purposes related to the provision of legal services

The Law Firm processes the following personal data of yours in order to perform the legal services contract concluded with you or in order to take action at your request before concluding a contract:

data directly identifying the person: name, surname, date of birth, personal identification number, other personal identification number; contact details: address of residence or location, e-mail address, telephone number; data that you provide to us before, during the conclusion and performance of a legal services contract; other data, including data from third parties, that we obtain in the exercise of our professional rights and in the performance of our professional duties.

The Law Firm also processes personal data for other legitimate purposes:

  • the processing of accounting documents for the purpose of the settlement and other payments, accounting rules, compliance with other obligations applicable to the Law Firm, to the extent necessary to ensure a legitimate purpose;
  • when concluding contracts that are not related to the provision of legal services, the purpose of the processing of personal data contained in them is the proper performance of the relevant contracts;
  • for the purpose of concluding, executing, accounting and properly executing the duties of a lawyer or the Law Firm as an employer/ employer/ employer of the workplace provider, established by law, for the purpose of concluding, executing contracts (employment / legal services);

Procedure and terms for storing personal data

When processing and storing personal data, the Law Firm implements organizational and technical measures that ensure the protection of personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, disclosure, as well as from any other unlawful processing.

We process your personal data within the scope of the purposes for which it was collected. We store the received personal data in accordance with the legal acts in force in the Republic of Lithuania and the rules of operation of the Lithuanian Bar Association. Your personal data is not stored or processed longer than is necessary for the implementation of the above-mentioned data processing purposes. Longer storage of your personal data may be carried out when it is necessary for us to be able to defend ourselves against claims, claims or claims and to exercise our rights, as well as in the presence of grounds established by law.

For the purposes related to the provision of legal services, personal data are processed by the Law Firm for 5 years after the expiry of the contract for the provision of legal services with the client.

For accounting purposes, the Data Controller processes personal data for 10 years.

The Law Firm may transfer data outside the European Economic Area subject to one of the following conditions: you have expressly consented to the proposed transfer after being informed of the possible risks of such transfers; the transfer of data is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and the Law Firm or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at your request; the transfer of data is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract concluded in your interests between the Law Firm and another natural or legal person; the transfer of data is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; the transfer of data is necessary to protect your vital interests if you are unable to give your consent for physical or legal reasons.

Your rights as a data subject

Right of access to data. You have the right to access your data processed by the Law Firm and information about the purposes of the data processing, the categories of relevant personal data, the recipients of the data, the period or criteria for storing the data, to determine such a period.

The right to rectification. You have the right to have the Law Firm correct inaccurate personal data relating to you and, taking into account the purposes for which the data were processed, you have the right to request that incomplete personal data be supplemented.

The right to erasure. You have the right to request the Law Firm to delete personal data relating to you if this can be justified by one of the following reasons: personal data are no longer necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed; you withdraw your consent on which the processing is based and there is no other legal basis for processing the data; personal data are processed unlawfully; personal data must be deleted in accordance with a legal obligation established by the law of the European Union or the Republic of Lithuania;

The right to restriction of processing. You have the right to request the Law Firm to restrict the processing of data when one of the following cases applies: you dispute the accuracy of the data for a period during which the Law Firm can verify the accuracy of your personal data; The processing of your personal data is unlawful and you do not consent to the erasure of the data and instead request that their use be restricted; The Law Firm no longer needs personal data for the purposes of processing, but you need them in order to assert, exercise or defend legal claims, or you object to the processing until it is verified whether the Law Firm’s legitimate reasons take precedence over your reasons.

The right to object.
